Gun maker used child and Bible to sell guns!

Wounded Times

I don't have time to read much that does not involve #PTSD but considering all these mass murders are creating more survivors with PTSD, I've been reading these reports more lately.

I was sent a link to a Tweet about a gunmaker using a child and a Bible passage to sell guns. I totally lost my mind!

Gun-Maker Posted Chilling Ad Of Child Cradling Firearm Before Uvalde Tragedy

Daniel Defense posted a Twitter ad with a young boy cradling a gun like the one used in the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
The Georgia gun company that manufactures the AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle used in the horrific attack at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, posted a disturbing Twitter ad featuring a young boy holding a similar type of weapon.

The ad by the Daniel Defense gun company, one of the largest private gun-makers in America, featured a child holding a huge scoped firearm in his lap with an ammunition clip in front of him. An adult’s hand with a finger pointing at the boy appeared in the foreground.

Evidently, it was not well received considering he blocked people from seeing it after 19 children and 2 teachers were slaughtered.

Daniel Defense quickly blocked the public from its Twitter account after the mass shooting on Tuesday, and the ad was reportedly pulled. It can still be seen on screenshots and archives captured by The Wayback Machine.

I have a Bible passage too! How about Matthew 7:15-20 for starters?

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

The fruits of these people are rotted to their core! Here is the rest of the passage so you can see what they decided to leave out in order to support their wickedness.

The Value of a Good Name
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
Loving favor rather than silver and gold.
2 The rich and the poor have this in common,
The Lord is the maker of them all.
3 A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself,
But the simple pass on and are punished.
4 By humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches and honor and life.
5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse;
He who guards his soul will be far from them.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
7 The rich rules over the poor,
And the borrower is servant to the lender.
8 He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow,
And the rod of his anger will fail.
9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed,
For he gives of his bread to the poor.
10 Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave;
Yes, strife and reproach will cease.
11 He who loves purity of heart
And has grace on his lips,
The king will be his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge," But He overthrows the words of the faithless.
13 The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside!
I shall be slain in the streets!”
14 The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep pit;
He who is abhorred by the Lord will fall there.
15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
16 He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches,
And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.

Widow of Chris Kyle makes claims about PTSD that are not true

Angry widow of America's deadliest sniper says claiming PTSD is no excuse for his murder
Daily Mail
By JAMES NYE
25 June 2013

The unforgiving widow of ex-Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, famed as 'America's Deadliest Sniper' refuses to accept that PTSD be used as an excuse by her husband's killer.

Talking about Eddie Ray Routh, the Marine reservist who shot dead Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield in February at a Texas shooting range, Taya Kyle said that she had no intention of ever absolving him.

Taya Kyle, 38, told CBS DFW that PTSD is a condition that does influence a sufferers mood, but 'You're not going to blame someone else, in my opinion when you murder two people in cold blood.'

Chris Kyle was the author of the bestselling book, 'American Sniper' and was writing a new book, 'American Gun: A History of the U.S. in Ten Firearms' at the time of his death. The book is on general release now.

The sniper was so feared by insurgents in Iraq, that an $80,000 bounty was placed on his head and he was known by his nickname of 'Al-Shaitain Rama' - 'The Devil of Ramadi'.

Chris Kyle's alleged killer, Routh, 25, has claimed he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and that Kyle was helping him through his condition. However, Taya' scorn for Routh's claims are evident through the manner in which she speaks of those who live with PTSD.

'They (those with PTSD) worked through their struggles, just like we work through our struggles. They are phenomenal people and it doesn’t change their character,' said Taya to CBS DFW.

'Might change their mood once in a while, might have sleepless nights, doesn’t make them a murderer.'
In an interview earlier this month, Taya said she does not believe that Routh was a PTSD sufferer. 'People who have PTSD don’t talk about it. They don’t use it as an excuse. They carry guns and they do good work and love their families,' she said to the New York Post. 'They struggle, but it doesn’t change their character.' read more here

Soldier famous for YouTube video of Taliban firefight

I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong but in this case I am doing it when no one knew I was. When this video first came out, I watched it a few times and there was something about it that didn't look right to me. I can't explain it, but it seemed fake. After reading the interview, now I know I was wrong.

The formerly anonymous soldier made famous on YouTube for scrambling away from Taliban gunfire on an Afghanistan hillside reflected on the incident viewed at least 23 million times in a recent interview with The Washington Post.

The harrowing helmet cam footage, with bullets landing to each side of Pfc. Ted Daniels as he tries to find cover, perhaps is the most popular online video from what is known as the most filmed war in history.

For Daniels, a former cop in Maryland and Pennsylvania who enlisted at age 37, the drama of that firefight didn’t end when he was injured and eventually sent stateside.

Marine Sea Knight pilot risked all to stop carnage

40 years after sniper Mark Essex, Marine pilot is proud he helped stop the carnage

Retired Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Charles H. "Chuck" Pitman, the branch's former Deputy Chief of Staff for Aviation, was at Veterans Memorial Park in Pensacola, Fla., on January 2, 2013. Forty years ago, on Jan. 7, 1973, Pitman volunteered to pilot a Sea Knight helicopter and helped police stop Mark Essex, the Howard Johnson's sniper in New Orleans, risking his life and his career.

Like most other residents of New Orleans, Marine helicopter pilot Charles H. "Chuck" Pitman watched the television in horror on Jan. 7, 1973, as authorities tried to stop a sniper or snipers who had invaded the Downtown Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge that morning and fatally shot seven people, including three police officers. Shots rang out from various spots in the 17-story hotel, making police think there was more than one gunman, but the cops eventually contained the killer or killers to the roof.

Though cornered, whoever was on the hotel roof was out of the NOPD's reach. Disturbed, Pitman -- at the time a 37-year-old lieutenant colonel in charge of a Marine air unit stationed in Belle Chasse -- thought, "We've got to do something. Those people need help out there."

So Pitman did do something. He flew a Marine helicopter to the hotel on Loyola Avenue and helped police officers, some of them on board the chopper, kill 23-year-old Mark Essex, who investigators determined was the sole sniper. In doing so, however, Pitman placed his career with the Marines in jeopardy.

Four decades later, many New Orleanians are still thankful for Pitman's actions on the day Essex terrorized the city. "Without that helicopter and without his piloting, it would've been a lot worse," Moon Landrieu, New Orleans' mayor at the time, said recently. "The city owes him a debt of gratitude."

Medevac crews in Afghanistan increase en-route patient care

Medevac crews in Afghanistan increase en-route patient care

By Capt. Richard Barker

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Jan. 4, 2013) -- During the course of the last several months, two Medevac companies in Task Force Hammerhead, Company C, 3rd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, and Company C, 1st Battalion, 169th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard, have participated in a trial program developed by the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, or CAB, that enables flight medics to administer blood products to wounded Soldiers during the Soldiers' en-route flight care and movement to a medical facility.

The 3-25th General Support Aviation Battalion, 25th CAB, is the first conventional Medevac unit anywhere in the Army to conduct this mission.

"Specifically we implemented a new blood transfusion process for critically-injured patients on Medevac aircraft," said Capt. Nathaniel Bastian, a Forward Support Medevac platoon leader of C, 3-25.

As of December 2012, 80 medical patients have received blood products through the program, which is currently operating at five locations in southern Afghanistan.

More than 60 percent of casualties in Regional Command-South, known as RC-South, are caused by improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, and gunshot wounds. These types of injuries cause patients to lose a large amount of blood. As a result, the patient's chances of survival are increased by an immediate replenishment of blood plasma and red blood cells prior to their arrival at the next level of medical treatment.

Attempted suicide at West Edmonton Mall prevented watchful eye

Suicide attempt at West Edmonton Mall

The owner of a firearms range at West Edmonton Mall is full of praise for two of her employees who may have prevented a customer from killing himself with a rented pistol.

Flora Kupsch said when a man pointed a Glock 9-mm gun at himself Tuesday night after firing more than 40 rounds at a target, her staff stepped in and there was a scuffle.

Police say the man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was in stable condition in hospital.

"I am very, very proud of them the way they reacted," Kupsch said Wednesday. "Everybody is shaken up about what happened. I was just freaking out about the whole thing."

The Wild West Shooting Centre has been operating for 13 years at the mall and bills itself as "Edmonton's Funnest Attraction." Customers rent pistols and ammunition and paper targets to shoot at.

Ads for the centre say that no firearms licence is required. Wild West says it prides itself on following strict safety protocols and employs friendly, experienced staff.

However, two men have died as a result of self-inflicted gunshot wounds in the past, one in 2007 and another in 2008.

Kupsch said a man in his 50s came into the centre Tuesday night saying he had never fired a gun before.

He then paid the fee to rent the Glock, the type of pistol used by many police services across Canada, and 50 rounds of ammunition, but then left the centre briefly to have a cup of coffee before taking the gun.

Homeless man shot 2 at Maryland church, then killed himself

Police: Homeless man shot 2 at Maryland church
By DAVID DISHNEAU
Associated Press

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) - A disgruntled homeless man fatally shot a secretary and critically wounded a priest in the office of a Maryland Episcopal church after he was turned away from the food bank because of his increasingly aggressive behavior, police said Friday.

After killing Brenda Brewington, 59, and wounding the Rev. Mary-Marguerite Kohn, 62, Douglas F. Jones killed himself with the handgun in the woods where he lived near St. Peter's Episcopal Church, about 14 miles west of Baltimore, police said.

"He's been described as argumentative and belligerent, and at some point they asked him to leave and not return. If there was a motive here, we believe that may have contributed in some way," Howard County Police Department spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said.

Brewington, of Ellicott City, was pronounced dead Thursday evening at the church after a custodian discovered the scene and called police.

Kohn, of Halethorpe, remained in critical condition Friday afternoon at Shock Trauma in Baltimore, according to police and hospital officials. She had been co-rector of the parish since 2009 and associate rector since 2003.

The incident provoked grief, anger and prayerful reflection at the opening Friday of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland's two-day annual convention in Hunt Valley, said the Right Rev. Eugene T. Sutton, bishop of Maryland.

He said the anger was directed at a society that would let a deranged man have a handgun.

"How is it that someone as mentally unstable, and who is on the edge, mentally, how does he get a gun to wreak that havoc?" Sutton said. "And of course, it's very painful for us that that violence happened in a holy place."

'Quick Draw' Being Blamed For Soldier's Death

Army Sgt. Matthew Gallagher's Death Ruled Homicide
December 17, 2011

BOSTON -- A game of "quick-draw" is being blamed for the homicide of a North Falmouth soldier.

According to the Cape Cod Times, an investigative hearing was held Saturday in Fort Hood, Texas, regarding the death of Army Sgt. Matthew R. Gallagher.

An Army Criminal Investigation Division special agent who testified at the hearing said Gallagher’s roommate, Army Sgt. Brent McBride, admitted to accidentally shooting Gallagher in the head by accident hours after the incident in the Wasit province of Iraq.

Cheryl Ruggiero, Gallagher’s mother, was first told by the Pentagon that her son died in combat on June 26, a week before his 23rd birthday.

Two pastors shot during service, two heroes overpower shooter

Deputies: Man runs in church, shoots pastors after killing wife
By Arelis R. Hernández, Orlando Sentinel
9:30 p.m. EDT, September 18, 2011

Two church pastors were critically injured when a 57-year-old Polk County man with a criminal record went on a "mad rage" and opened fire at a church Sunday morning after killing his wife inside their home, officials said.

The congregation of Greater Faith Christian Center had just bowed their heads and closed their eyes as their pastor led them in prayer Sunday morning before service was to commence at about 10 a.m.

All the men, women and children — about 18 of them — knelt down, save one elderly parishioner who was too frail to bend her knees.

According to a spokesperson for the Polk County Sheriff's Office, she was the only one who saw the suspect, Jeremiah Fogle, run through the front doors of the sanctuary, down the center aisle to the altar, where he peered into the pastor's face.
Panic broke out inside the Lakeland church while two congregants, Derrick Foster and Corey Reed, struggled to disarm Fogle, hitting him with a microphone stand and overpowering him.

Timothy Dale Johnson Arkansas suspect quit job on day of killing

Arkansas suspect quit job on day of killing
By Shaila Dewan and John M. Hubbell Published: August 14, 2008

Timothy Dale Johnson, the suspect in the slaying of the chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party in Little Rock on Wednesday, quit his job as a night-shift worker at a Target store in Conway, Arkansas, early that morning after an irate outburst, according to a police report and a statement from Target.

Johnson quit after he scrawled graffiti on the walls at work. KTHV-TV reported that the graffiti was rife with expletives and was critical of Target, raging that the store was run by "dumb jocks." A police report about the incident said that a store official characterized Johnson as "extremely irate."

Police officials said Johnson, 51, killed Bill Gwatney, the Democratic chairman, in the party headquarters Wednesday morning with several gunshots. After a long car chase, Johnson was fatally wounded in a shootout with the police, the authorities said.
