MIRAMAR — A Marine on his way back to base after a workout saved three people from a fiery crash in Miramar Saturday night.
Patrick Sammon was walking back to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar from the L.A. Fitness on Miramar Road when he saw two cars collide near Kearny Villa Road at about 10:30 p.m. One of the vehicles caught fire, and the 21-year-old ran over to help, authorities said.
He first pulled the victim from the flaming vehicle, then went to help two other victims, said San Diego fire Battalion Chief David Gerboth.
