KPD: Motorcyclist dies after bike runs off U.S. 190

A man died Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle accident after he collided with an 18-wheeler in the 3900 block of Stan Schlueter Loop, police said. The Killeen Police Department issued a news release Friday afternoon confirming the victim was a 21-year-old Fort Hood soldier.
A preliminary investigation found that the soldier was “driving erratically” before colliding with the trailer portion of the 18-wheeler, police said.
No further details about the soldier’s identity will be released until Fort Hood notifies his next of kin, Smith said.
