KILLEEN - A Fort Hood soldier is behind bars for leaving the scene of a crash that killed another Fort Hood soldier.
Jaylon Devon Jacobs, 20, is currently in the Bell County Jail charged with failure to stop and render aid during a deadly crash on the morning of September 7th. According to the arrest affidavit issued last Friday, Jacobs made a statement that he was driving a vehicle when he struck a motorcycle driven by Thomas Reyes, a 28-year-old Fort Soldier.
Jacobs then states he walked away from the scene and did not provide any aid. Reyes died from his injuries an hour later at the hospital.
On the morning of the crash, officers responded to the area of Monte Carlo Lane and MLK Blvd at 1:12 a.m. They located a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2011 Ford Mustang in the ditch on the east side of the MLK Blvd.
