Things are a lot different today so when people care, they step up to make a difference. Hey veterans you know the deal. You stepped up and put your life on the line and you are even more tired than I am of losing veterans after combat.
If you want to make a difference, there are many more veterans out there waiting to hear someone talk about what they are feeling and let them know they are not alone. Your story matters to them and to the generations before you. They didn't have a voice but made sure they gave you one. Speak for them now and for the next generation. I talked to Dr. Silverman on the phone and she told me what she was trying to do but more, she told me why she wanted to. It is because of you.

ReplyDeletePeople are finally becoming aware of this thing called PTSD. Yet, they don't know a lot about the daily suffering that goes with it. Now is your opportunity to put a face to the nightmare called PTSD. I encourage you to step up and show the world what it is like to live day by day with the memories of past traumatic experiences. The more people know about the daily effects of PTSD, the more understanding and help can be provided to past and future American servicemen and women. Please give Dr. Silverman a call. Bob we know this all too well but stand as an example that healing does happen. We also remember what it was like when everyone was suffering in silence.
ReplyDeleteCombat battles are won and lost with the public keeping score, if they pay attention at all anymore, but the battles fought after it do not end. The fight goes on and it will take a huge force to defeat PTSD. Joining forces is priceless and something you have always been willing to do. Thank you for all you do!
