UPDATE

'Duck Dynasty' Star Phil Robertson Suspended Over Anti-Gay Remarks (VIDEO)
Posted: 12/18/2013

A and E has suspended "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson following anti-gay comments he made in a recent GQ profile, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.

In an interview with GQ's Drew Magary, the head of the family in the wildly popular A and E series expressed his view that homosexuality was immoral, likening it to bestiality. Some of the remarks were made using off-color language.

Backlash was widespread and pronounced, including condemnation from GLAAD and the Human Rights Campaign.

On Wednesday evening, A and E released this statement to Entertainment Weekly:

“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A and E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely."

This Duck Dynasty anti-gay thing really bugs me. Not that it is anything new, but Robertson isn't alone.
"Not only does "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson fail to understand what it's like to be gay, but he also thinks homosexuality is a sin comparable to bestiality.

In a shocking new interview with GQ's Drew Magary, Robertson -- the 67-year-old patriarch of the Duck Commander kingdom that earned his Louisiana family a fortune and a hit A and E series -- opened up about "modern immorality" and the gay community.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus," Robertson told GQ. "That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

Duck Dynasty just finished a USO tour and it appears that these thoughts were not mentioned in front of the troops when some of them are in fact gay.

Let's cut through some of the BS. The first thing to point out is the fact that not all Christian churches or believers feel the same way and no one has forced any of them to change their minds. When it comes to gay people being able to marry, that is a civil ceremony unless they happen to attend a church where they are welcomed equally. As for the military, well, that has been settled.

If you hear someone quote about sex from Leviticus remember the rest of what is in it about unlawful sexual relations but then also read what else is in this book.

Mark 7 14 Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15 Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” [16] [f]

17 After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

He is talking about hurting someone much like He always talked about. Most of the people doing most of the talking have been serial spouses, in other words, committing adultery by hurting the prior spouse they were supposed to love. Christ always talked about how we are supposed to treat people more than anything else so if you hear Paul quoted also remember that Paul had a lot of things wrong including when he hunted down Christians to see them put to death. Oh, by the way that was when he was called Saul. Look him up sometime.

So who exactly gave anyone the right to decide what is allowed under a religious basis when even Christians can't agree and there are other people in this country just trying to live as good people with no religious connection at all wondering who the hell put these zealots in charge of everyone else?

In what book did Christ say it was ok to hate or harm anyone or force them to follow the way you decide they should live?
