Troops in Afghanistan risking lives but congress closes down USA?

At first I thought this would be a good story on Congressman Dave Joyce of Ohio planning on giving his salary to a veterans' charity called Ghost Rider Foundation. I was wrong. Sure it is a good story and most in this country are so ticked off with congress forgetting they were elected to do a job for the whole country, but when reminded of how much money these people actually get paid, on top of their health insurance, it got me really angry.
U.S. House of Representatives are paid an annual salary of $174,000, according to a report from The News-Herald. When divided by 365, that amount equates to about $476.71 per day.
Why am I even more angry than I have been? Because these people, including the members of congress determined to make sure the government stopped working, get paid a lot more than the troops risking their lives and a hell of a lot more money than the veterans living off disability because they risked their lives. While the troops and veterans know what it is like to work together to save lives these fools can't even manage to work together for the country.

With two years experience soldiers make this a year.
Private (E1) $18,194
Private (E2) $20,398
Private First Class(E3) $21,449
Specialist or Corporal (E4)$23,756
Sergeant (E5) $25,913
Staff Sergeant (E6)$28,285
But some members of congress seem to think they deserve their money

"I understand that there may be some other members who are deferring their paychecks, and I think that's admirable," Ellmers said. "I'm not in that position."

On the other side of the aisle, Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) had his own reasons, noting that he was not at fault for Congress' gridlock.

"I think every American should get paid for his or her labor," Butterfield added. "That includes members of Congress. I didn't create the shutdown."

What makes all of this even worse is the troops are still in Afghanistan, risking their lives while they have to hear the country that sent them there has closed down.
