Amazing how different he was back then and talked about how we needed a strong national defense and Republicans thought Washington shouldn't tell states what to do with education funds.
I am looking for something on CSPAN and just keep finding all of these videos that show things were a lot different back then with the same people.
Budget Agreement October 15, 1998
Republican members spoke to reporters about the compromise budget agreement they had made with the Clinton administration. They were pleased that they had increased the defense budget and blocked a needle exchange program.
