Fort Hood soldier charged in connection with on-post fatality

FORT HOOD, Texas - A Fort Hood soldier assigned to 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, was charged with murder and assault with the intent to commit murder Sept. 5.
Sgt. Brett M. Wessel, a 26-year-old married male, was apprehended by Fort Hood military police Sept. 1 in connection with the death of retired Sgt. Ryan F. Dickinson on West Fort Hood.
