Glenn spoke with Taya Kyle, wife of the Navy SEAL known as the “American Sniper” Chris Kyle, about her thoughts on the circumstances surrounding his death. She is adamant that PTSD is not to blame and more was at play.
“I know people want to find a reason why one young man would turn his gun on two people that were there to help and kill them in cold blood. But in my opinion the reason is not PTSD. In my experience Chris and I were blessed to know a large number of people who had big hearts, great men that are doing justice, they experience traumatic events and they suffered. They had PTSD legitimately. But they don’t use it as an excuse. They still carry a gun. They still do justice and they love their families. It doesn’t change their character. They just deal with their own internal struggles. They may have mood swings, they may have sleepless nights, but they don’t kill innocent people. This is ‑‑ you can’t blame murder on PTSD in my opinion and from everything I’ve learned about it,” she said.

Chris Kyle's widow doesn't blame PTSD for husband's death
The truth is, veterans are more of a danger to themselves than to others and Chris Kyle's widow has that right. When you look at the numbers, more veterans commit suicide than harm anyone else.
