Nine counties still counting ballots in Florida

There is no excuse for why Florida can't get elections right!
Election Update: Nine counties still counting ballots

TALLAHASSEE -- The Department of State said Wednesday afternoon that nine counties are still counting absentee and provisional ballots.

"Counties may be able to finish counting absentee ballots today though," Department of State spokesman Chris Cate said in an e-mail.

The nine counties: Broward, Escambia, Duval, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Okaloosa, Palm Beach, Pinellas and Putnam.

We had as much time as any other state, or at least we should have. We didn't have a hurricane but somehow New Jersey ended up doing a better job than we did. This is embarrassing.
