Florida election has too many unknowns

Voters Remorse may have a lot to do with who wins Florida. Take Governor Rick Scott. When a headline has to read his rating went up a point as if that is big news, that's messed up. In his case, it must be great news for him.

With the state's jobless rate improving and the release of a new education plan, Gov. Rick Scott notched a 1-point gain in his favorability rating among Floridians in a new poll that asked about his job performance. However, his approval rating still languished on the south side of 40 percent, where it has remained for most of his term. The poll released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University Polling Institute found that 39 percent of likely voters approve of the way Scott is doing his job, a point up from his September rating. Of the 1,076 Florida voters polled, 45 percent disapproved of his handling of his job as governor, which is 3 points less than in September. The rest didn't know or wouldn't answer the question The opinions skewed sharply according to party lines. A total of 68 percent of Republicans approved of the job Scott is doing, while 16 percent of Democrats and 39 percent of Independents approved. Disapproval of Scott's performance was 17 percent among Republicans, 72 percent among Democrats and 53 percent among Independents.

Then we have Congress in general. Their approval rating is very, very low and most people really do blame them for what has not gotten better for most of us.

But then you have the primary of Mica and Adams.

Rep. John Mica defeated Sandy Adams (Tea Party) when redistricting forced them to run against each other. This district is heavily Republican. Democrat Jason Kendall is not predicted to win against Mica.

So there you have it. Congress approval rating in the tank, Tea Party Republican defeated and our Governor is someone that is not well liked. We have all these political calls and commercials getting everyone fired up and fed up. We have too many voters with cell phones no one is talking to.

How anyone can really predict what is going to happen in Florida tomorrow is like visiting the fortune teller. We know there will be long lines tomorrow thanks to Governor Scott but top that off with heavy rain expected. As it is, on Thursday I went to vote early and waited an hour, which is very unusual in this part of Florida.
