It's the nature of your work, and sometimes it means being involved in dangerous situations where the risk of death or serious bodily harm is very real. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a type of health issue that can develop after going through one or more traumatic events.

Massachusetts State Trooper Gil Bernard discusses the importance of having a program like the Brattleboro Retreat's Uniformed Service Program for men and women who are dealing with combat-related and other traumatic experiences that can cause PTSD.
