STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Fianna Sogomony was flipping through casting Web sites when she found one combining her two loves: Music and the military.
It was an online reality series called “Bands of Brothers” that would use the power of music to unite and inspire veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder to seek help.
“I would do anything for my fellow brothers and sisters, anything I can do for them I will,” said Ms. Sogomony, 37, a New Dorp Beach resident and an intelligence analyst in the Army National Guard who was deployed to Iraq in 2008.
“We’re a tight-knit group. We like to help each other out so even though I am not affected by PTSD, I obviously know people who are and the ripple effect of that is pretty significant. If I can do any little thing to help, of course I am going to do it.”
