Businesses that employ veterans see benefits to companies, community
Some employers feel that because of their military experience, vets are better workers.

After Jeremiah Bulls spent four years serving in the Army as a diesel mechanic stationed in Hawaii, it was an adjustment to transition back into civilian lifestyle and the normal work day.
“Even though I didn’t see any kind of action — we went places but we weren’t in any kind of hostile environment while I was in — but even transitioning from the military back to civilian life was a little unsettling,” Bulls explained. “One minute your whole day is planned out for you, the next, nothing. It’s an adjustment period, for sure. I think most veterans handle it very well.”
Employing veterans
Bulls sees that adjustment now in his own employees.
He is the general manager of U-Haul Moving & Storage of Lubbock on 34th Street, and 40 percent of his employees are veterans.
