‘Talent’ singer still thinks he blocked grenade

NBCUNIVERSAL VIA AP Timothy Michael Poe, shown above performing on a June 4 episode of the NBC show “America’s Got Talent,” said in a June 8 television interview that he believes he was telling the truth about blocking a grenade blast in Afghanistan to save his buddies — but he doesn’t know what’s real.
DALLAS — A soldier-turned-TV contestant whose claims of being injured in battle were dismissed by military officials says he believed he was telling the truth, but he doesn’t know what is real.
Timothy Michael Poe appeared on Monday’s episode of the NBC show “America’s Got Talent,” claiming he was injured by a grenade in Afghanistan in 2009, though Minnesota National Guard records don’t support his claims.

I watched the repeat of last week's show last night. As I watched the reaction of the audience to Poe's tall tale of his service, it was easy to see how much the troops are loved. It also showed that this man hurt people across the country when he decided to lie about all of it. I wonder how the people in the audience feel after they cried for him because I sure do feel bitter toward him now.
