Companies pledge to hire 25,000 vets, spouses

Private-sector companies that do business with military commissaries, exchanges and morale, welfare and recreation programs have pledged to hire 25,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2013.
More than 60 companies have pledged to participate, said Pat Nixon, president of the American Logistics Association, and more of the 270 companies that are ALA members are joining the effort every day, he said.
Among those are large and small companies — Tysons Foods, Con Agra, Procter and Gamble and EURPAC, to name a few.
