Michelle Obama meets military families

WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Michelle Obama has met with U.S. military families while campaigning, possibly previewing her cause if she becomes the first lady, some military wives say.
Obama's focus on military families puts her at the point of efforts by her husband, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, to sway military voters, Politico reported Monday. Spouses of service members caught her attention during a roundtable with working mothers, and she later hosted her first military-focused event in Fayetteville, N.C., the day before the state's primary.
"If she becomes first lady, this will be her cause," said Amanda McBreen, 47, a Marine wife who participated in a Norfolk, Va., roundtable and helps coordinate 24 state chapters of Blue Star Families for Obama.
