The search for a man wanted in the murder of one Caldwell County Sheriff's deputy and the attempted murder of another continues with two law enforcement agencies stepping forward with offers of rewards.
The U.S. Marshal's Office and FBI each have offered $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of 32-year-old Skip Brinkley, also known as Larry Wayne Brucke Jr.
A manhunt has been ongoing since Friday night when Brinkley allegedly shot and killed Sheriff's Deputy Adam Klutz when he responded to a 911 hang-up call for a suspected domestic violence dispute at 3940 Fox Winkler Road in the Oak Hill community. Klutz was struck in a non-protected area of his body and pronounced dead at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
Lt. Chris Martin also was shot three times in the chest when he arrived at the scene to provide backup, but his life was saved because of the bulletproof vest he was wearing. Martin returned fire, but there is nothing to indicate that he struck Brinkley.
