Mount Dora memorial honors fallen officers, firefighters

MOUNT DORA - A pair of black granite monuments commemorating the service of fallen firefighters and police officers nationwide will be dedicated today, the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
On that day, 343 firefighters and 72 law-enforcement officers died responding to the attacks. Following are particulars of the dedication and 9-11 observance, which is open to the public.
