Coming home from the front lines of war has always been hard for our young men and women, but it may be an even bigger problem than any of us realize. One group is bringing the reality of those returning veterans to the big screen, hoping to get the message out to large audiences.
The film started off as a look into the recovery of those who lost a limb during combat and how they've adapted back home. But as the crew began to talk with the soldiers, they learned it's more than just those who come back with physical wounds that are having a hard time adjusting.
Movies and TV have brought the images of war into homes for years. But the film Who Will Stand is hoping to bring to light what happens when the fighting ends, focusing on the line "They taught us how to survive in Iraq. No one taught us how to survive once we got home."

"No one wants to admit that they have a problem. Many of them in the interviews say, ‘I kept saying no, I can deal with this,' until they found they couldn't," said producer Janet Markley.
Markley is a local attorney and producer on the film. She knows first hand, combat changes troops, "My own father was a World War II vet and I remember my mother said my father many times had nightmares for months and months after he came home."
