Tuesday's autopsy results only answered some questions about what happened to two longtime Central Florida public servants inside their New Smyrna Beach home.
Steven G. Brady, a former Orlando-based Florida Department of Law Enforcement legal adviser, committed suicide, shooting himself in the head, the Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office said.
But there were no obvious signs of trauma to his wife, Pamela, a veteran Seminole County educator.
New Smyrna Beach police investigators are not speculating about how she died, saying results from toxicology tests are pending. They also wouldn't say what they think happened.
The Bradys were found inside their Cedar Avenue house Monday, a week after Steven Brady retired from the FDLE, ending a 23-year career as regional legal adviser in the Orlando operations center.
Documents obtained Tuesday show that Brady's career may have started unraveling a month earlier when the husband of another FDLE employee arrived at his Port Orange home and allegedly found Brady inside with his wife. An FDLE spokeswoman confirmed that Vicki Canter works for the agency.
That was Aug. 14. The next day, Douglas Canter filed paperwork asking for an injunction for protection from Steven Brady.
