Iraq vet from Phoenix missing; SUV torched

A 30-year-old Phoenix resident and Iraq War veteran went missing near Globe last week, and his SUV was found torched, leading police, friends and family to scour the small town in search of the man on Friday.
Aaron Anthony Tierno was reported missing by his older brother Ralph on Wednesday, after he did not come home from his job at a construction site near the El Maguey mobile home park in Miami.
Tierno was working for Anderson Security at the Arizona Public Service construction site.
While Sheriff's officers continue to search for Tierno, anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff's Office dispatch at 928-425-4449.

We were overjoyed to have him come home from Iraq after undergoing intense combat.
If anyone could survive the unthinkable, it's Aaron.

ReplyDeleteI had the pleasure of meeting aaron on several occassions as he has been in the process of buying my house. He and his friend have come numerous times to my home and stayed and visited as if we had known each other for years.What a great guy...My family and I are so worried about him and if there is anything we can do to help you and your family, we are here for you...Colleen - canuck126@msn.com
I never met Aaron in person but spoke with him several times on the phone. He was a very kind man. My thoughts and prayers are with him and your family.

ReplyDeleteI've known Aaron since he was a little kid trying desperately to hang out with his older brother Ralph and me and even though we haven't spoken in such a long time, he was still remembered as another little brother to me. He was definitely a precocious little kid but he was a good kid and he grew up to be a good man and he is my hero. RIP Aaron... you will never be forgotten.

ReplyDeleteI met Aaron the first time he came to see Colleen's house, as I was a renter there. I remember him and his friend very well... both were such a pleasure to meet, and I was excited for Colleen that such a wonderful guy was interested in her home. I'll never forget how much she enjoyed having them sit down at the bar in the back yard with her for nearly two hours and just enjoy one another's company.
I am so sorry for your loss, and just know there are people out here whom you have never met who wish you nothing short of peace at this difficult time. If you need ANYTHING, contact Colleen... she knows where to find me. We are here for you.

ReplyDeleteWords cannot convey our sorrow at losing our beautiful Aaron, of shining memory, so young, and full of promise. That he lived his too short life so well is a consolation.
Aaron, our love for you lives on. We believe in the Life Eternal, and so it is that grace that sustains us in believing that we will be reunited at last with our beloved Aaron, when "all losses are restored and sorrows end" as the poet says. We keep him forever in the circle of our love.

ReplyDeleteMy brother passed away at the age of 56 last month. While it does get less hard and pain is replaced by wonderful memories, there is a place in my heart that is empty now. My father passed away young as well. He's been gone since 1987, my other brother passed away at the age of 42 ten years ago and last year my mother passed away at the age of 85. There is a place in my heart for all of them and wonderful memories of the time their lives were shared with mine.
Each one of us touches the lives of so many and we leave a mark on all we meet but we never really notice it. Then some thing will remind us of them and we know their soul lives on.
Lean on your family and friends. Share your pain as well as the joy he brought into your lives.
There is a saying that "life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by moments that take your breath away." Remember the moments you shared with him and that soon will bring you joy instead of sorrow.
