Cops: She killed friend, then herself

Two women died Tuesday following an argument that led one to shoot the other and then turn the gun on herself, Polk County sheriff's officials said. Sherry Licari, 42, was shot by her girlfriend, Claribel Callazo, in Licari's apartment on Horizon Hill Drive near Lakeland about 10 a.m., deputies said. Callazo, 40, of Dorman Drive, then shot herself.The two had been arguing behind the locked door of Licari's room, deputies said.Licari's roommate called deputies after she heard gunshots. She broke into Licari's room and found her alive, but wounded. Callazo was dead of a single gunshot wound. Licari died at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
