Conference here targets military stress

SAN DIEGO – The body, mind and soul of troops and their families form the new battlefield in the fight against combat stress, numerous speakers told about 800 mental-health experts and high-ranking officers Tuesday during a national conference in downtown San Diego.
They said weapons to counter post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol abuse and other combat-related ills include traditional counseling and medications along with more novel therapies such as martial arts, yoga, meditation and biofeedback.
