HUD vouchers available at VA
The Gazette Staff • June 19, 2008
Ross County has received 35 vouchers for homeless veterans through Housing and Urban Development.
The vouchers are portable and recipients can move to other communities with the vouchers. Being a homeless veteran and under income guidelines are the only requirements for receiving the vouchers.
The vouchers are part of the 2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act enacted in December 2007 that provided $75 million dollars of funding for the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing voucher program.
Interested veterans should apply at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs and Medical Center Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program. To contact the VA homless veterans program, call 773-1141 ext. 7499
Metropolitan Housing Authority also is looking for property owners interested in working with the HUD program.
